WEBSITE NEWSResource Kit on the Working Groups ProcessThe peer working groups conversations have been some of the most effective aspects of the Visible Knowledge Project's Summer Institutes. The working groups process, adapted from the Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching, follows a simple flow and order, with assigned roles for several participants, and results in a rich, focused conversation.
At the suggestion of several participants at our May leadership meeting, we have created a "resource kit" which provides tools to help local groups adapt the process for their campus meetings. The kit contains information on the process, suggestions for adaptation, an explanation of the various roles (such as the timekeeping role, the convener), and printable versions of the formsthat group members use to give one another written feedback on projects. We hope these tools are useful to a wide range of campus participants
and welcome your suggestions on what else would be helpful to facilitate
local use of the process.
