Scholarship of Teaching Bibliographies on the Web

As we continue to focus on a variety of web- and print-based resources in the scholarship of teaching and learning, this month we feature some of the important web-based bibliographies in the field.

Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, Knowledge Media Laboratory

http://kml2.camegiefoundation.org/gallery/index.html

This rich multimedia site explores options in the creation and presentation of course portfolios. It contains a section called "scholarship under construction" which focuses on the process and underlying methods involved in making a course portfolio; the "gallery" section focuses on the multimedia presentation of course portfolios.

Georgetown University, Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship

http://cndls.georgetown.edu/resources/

The CNDLS database contains leading scholarship in various teaching and learning categories, from assessment to technologies to the scholarship of teaching and learning. Entries range from books, to articles, to Web pages, and include classic scholarship as well as more recent contributions.

Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, CASTL Bibliography

http://www.carnegiefoundation.org/CASTL/highered/bibliography.htm

Established to provide a baseline for the five-year CASTL teaching initiatives, this is one of the most comprehensive and well-annotated bibliographies available on the web. The bibliography is organized around three sections: the idea of the scholarship of teaching and learning, examples of the scholarship of teaching and learning, and methods for doing the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Indiana University, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Bibliography

http://www.indiana.edu/~libsotl/

A standard bibliography of books and articles in the scholarship of teaching and learning. The site is well-categorized and includes guidance in "must reads," teaching fundamentals and curricular reform.
