New Themes and Issues Section
By Denise Pontacoloni

As a way of introducing visitors to the VKP website to the great diversity of issues in student learning pursued by VKP faculty, we have created a new "Themes and Issues" section. This section identifies some of the common questions that have emerged over the past three years and connects those themes to individual project posters.

The three themes explored are:

  • Developing new kinds of student assignments: investigating the connections between critical and creative work in new media environments
  • Examining the intermediate thinking processes of students and experts: investigating the strategies used in thinking tasks such as asking questions
  • Shifting time and space for learning: investigating the impact of new communications technologies on student learning

Each section contains descriptions of various participants' projects and links to their relevant posters. There are, also, links to articles and glossary pages on the VKP site which explain key concepts such as "inquiry based learning."

Visit the themes and issues site.
